Sunshine eyed the robot. “You’re onto what we’re doing, aren’t you?”

Barney climbed on top of the cart, and his white eyes flashed then became green. He nudged the speaker from the disassembled radio. Pulling his right ear like a lever, a panel on top of his head opened to reveal a small cavity. Sunshine’s eyes narrowed as she grinned.

Sunshine examined the speaker and the hole in the robot’s skull. With a few minor adjustments, a little bit of drilling, and some cramming of this into that, the speaker was set in place.

“Bzzzt Hello.”

“You can talk! Oh, my gosh! Oh, my gosh! I’m Sunshine! What’s your name? It probably isn’t Barney, I suppose. I just needed something to call you, so sorry to have to make something up. Why are here? What’s the deal with that crazy Usher-Bot? Do you know how to get out of here? We should get of here! How long have you been here? Why’d you even bring me? Why didn’t you just stay in the swamp? It’s pretty nice there, and if you lived there, I could probably talk Pops and Momsy into having more picnics. It was my first time in Ballihag, but since I’m older now, they’ll probably take me more. Maybe not though, since I got lost and ended up here, but if you help me get back, maybe they’ll be okay with having more picnics. I like picnics! We brought—”

“First things first,” the silver hare said as it stood up tall, just as tall as Sunshine. “My name is Barney.”

“Barney! You like the name I made up for you!”

He turned away and peered down the hallway. “Coincidence, actually. We should be on our way. Intermission is almost upon us.”

Sunshine followed Barney down the dark hall, away from the theater where The Return of the Muck-Mouths could still be heard. She rushed up and grabbed the robot by its arm.

“Wait! Before we go, I need your help. I need to find Bunny.”

“Bunny? Your toy mockery of rabbit-kind?”

“Hey! You’re not exactly a real rabbit, either.”

“No. We are already running late. If Intermission begins before we can get out of here, I fear all hope is lost.”

“Geez, Louise. We’re just going to be late for lunch. It’s not like the end of the world or anything. And even if it was, then I’d want Bunny with me. The sweeper robot said it was taking him to Lost and Found.”

The robot buzzed. “It’s on our way. We’ll find your Bunny. But we must hurry.”
